Richmond IONS May 2026 Meeting

Program Title: “Born to Remember the Past, Present and Future.” Our May 16, 2026 program will feature a talk by Carole Louie, award-winning interior designer, medium, past life regressionist and author, on her upcoming
book of the same title as this talk.

In the early 1990s, a series of formative experiences—including communications with her late father, a Chinese Buddhist—led Carole Louie to recognize her abilities as a medium and to pursue reincarnation research. Born to a Southern Baptist mother and a Chinese Buddhist father, Carole discovered her destiny to bridge the past, present, and future. Carole will share her explorations on how memories of past lives have shaped and expanded her worldview. Carole has dedicated much of the last 35 years exploring and often verifying other lifetimes she/her soul has lived and acting as a facilitator for others to pursue similar interests, seeking through her work to explore the spiritual dimensions of consciousness and reincarnation.
In this talk Carole will focus on three verified past lives she has experienced as her own: that of Lei Jingxiu, a Chinese architect and ancestor; that of Marco Antonio de Dominius, a Catholic archbishop; and that of James, son
of Joseph, brother of Jesus. Carole will also share recent insights attributed to James, including experiences involving alternate realities and extraterrestrials. Although these three lives are historically and culturally distinct, Carole will offer insights how each past lifetime connects recurring themes that inform her current incarnation and broader understanding of consciousness, spiritual evolution, and how living in alignment with Source guides all of us on our sacred journeys through every lifetime.

Institute.

To say that we are living in unsettled times is an understatement. We are moving into an era of
acceleration, and calls for us to shift and change with it. As a framework or description that explains the fundamental psychological source of what’s behind Human Experience, Andrew will present an Insight of THOUGHT as the Reality Principle, harmonizing with Infinite Intelligence and Consciousness to create Experience. This Understanding can be seen as a radical new paradigm that is diametrically opposed to how most of the human race has viewed Life since its first Beginnings. That is a shift from an Outside In Perspective to an Inside Out Perspective. He will discuss how THOUGHT shapes our moment-to-moment perceptual reality. Much like fish in water not being aware of the water, we humans are literally swimming in the moment to moment thinking and attendant feelings of our Experience as it is created. THOUGHT is the capacity humans have to create literally any
perception, and then experience that perception as real. This is how our Experience is created and we are using this capacity every moment of our lives. As we deepen our Understanding, we can begin to harness it and consciously align our vibrational frequencies with it to connect with our innate Guidance, innate Wisdom, innate Mental Health and Wellbeing, innate Resilience, innate Peace. Coming Home to Life’s Purpose for us. Coming Home to Love. Join us for this lively discussion.

Richmond IONS March 2026 Meeting

Program Title: “The Untapped Technology of Music: Rebalancing the Analytical Mind and the Wisdom of the Heart as a Pathway to Unity Consciousness.” Our March 21, 2026 program will feature a talk by Gary S.
Malkin, philosopher, metaphysician, author and Emmy Award-winning composer.

What if one of the most powerful catalysts for human evolution has been hiding in plain sight—so familiar we’ve underestimated it? In this experiential presentation, Emmy Award-winning composer and filmmaker Gary Malkin draws from the core arc of his TEDx message and his forthcoming book, The Resonance Revolution, to explore music not as entertainment or mood enhancement, but as an underutilized human technology for state regulation, emotional range, and collective connection. Through guided demonstrations—spoken wisdom set to carefully composed music, immersive contemplative media, group alignment experiences, and practices that cultivate comfort with silence—participants will investigate how music can settle overstimulated cognition and create conditions in which the analytical mind and the heart’s discernment work in partnership rather than tension. At a deeper level, Gary’s inquiry will address a civilizational threshold, i.e., that we cannot sustain outer peace without cultivating inner peace, and inner peace remains elusive without developing grief and trauma literacy. In a world shaped by unprocessed loss, polarization and chronic overstimulation, music may offer a reliable pathway toward the emotional maturity required for unity consciousness—not as ideology, but as lived experience. This session invites the Richmond IONS community into a grounded exploration of music as a bridge between science and spirituality, regulation and reconciliation, personal coherence and collective transformation, and ultimately, toward a world that works because we have become mature enough to sustain it.

About Our Presenter: Gary S. Malkin is an Emmy Award–winning composer, keynote presenter, and founder of the Global Wisdom Foundation whose work explores how music can deepen human coherence and expand our understanding of intelligence. After a 30-year career scoring over 1,000 media projects — including 15 years composing for Unsolved Mysteries— a life-altering turning point led him to on what he now calls Resonance Intelligence: the integration of cognitive clarity with emotional, somatic, and spiritual awareness. He is the co-creator (with Michael Stillwater and Doris Laesser Stillwater) of the internationally acclaimed Graceful Passages: A Companion
for Living and Dying, and the composer of the Gaia TV contemplative series Islands of Inner Peace, featuring voices such as Thich Nhat Hanh and other spiritual luminaries. Through immersive presentations and musically infused media, Gary helps audiences experience — not just understand — the deeper dimensions of consciousness and collective awakening.

Richmond IONS February 2026 Meeting

Program Title: “Healing Our Whole Selves, from the Future: Unconditional Love and Time Travel Therapy.” Our February 21, 2026 program will feature a talk by Julia Mossbridge, Ph.D., cognitive neuroscientist, author and educator. As we learn to think about time differently in the worlds of physics and cognition, we can also ask ourselves how the human relationship to time affects wellbeing. How does a “balanced time perspective” (Zimbardo) relate to wellbeing and life satisfaction? Can scalable interventions such as “time travel therapy” (Mossbridge et al.) support improvement in wellbeing, even among those with the highest levels of childhood neglect and trauma? Finally, what is unconditional love and what does it have to do with any of this?

To address these questions, Dr. Mossbridge will speak about her process of creation and the scientific results arising from TimeMachine.love, a scalable, pilot-tested time travel therapy tool that especially helps individuals who
experienced childhood trauma. She will outline a practical approach that can be used by therapists and caregivers to support use of this therapeutic tool in a safe and supportive environment. And she will delve into and share in depth
her own experiences, connecting herself and others over time, in ways designed to foster scientific discovery. We are excited and grateful to launch our 31st year with such a distinguished guest speaker as Dr. Julia Mossbridge.

Richmond IONS January 2026 Meeting

Program Title: “The Rise of Consciousness – From Reality’s Bastard Stepchild to Ontological Primacy.” Our 30th Anniversary Program, on January 17, 2026, will feature a talk by Edward F. Kelly, Ph.D., author of numerous scholarly works and Senior Professor of Research at the UVA Medical School’s Division of Perceptual Studies (DOPS) in Charlottesville.

The tug-of-war between spirituality and materialism has been a central issue of Western philosophy for at least 2,500 years, since Socrates and Democritus or even earlier. More commonly referred to today as the mind-body problem (whether mind begets body or body begets mind), the way we choose to answer this question has enormous implications for us, both individually and collectively, on a multitude of levels. Our distinguished 30th anniversary guest speaker, Ed Kelly, has been studying unusual manifestations of consciousness, through the lens of psi phenomena, for nearly 54 years, and has been responsible for several of the most groundbreaking and scholarly works ever published on the subject.

Like most in our culture, Ed began his career considering himself to be a scientific materialist or physicalist (to use a more modern term), but his decades long exposure to psi phenomena which could not be explained within
materialism was personally transformative. Ed also will address the great shift in perspective now occurring within some important sectors of the scientific community, led by luminaries like himself, as well as physicists like
Federico Faggin and Brian Josephson, biologists Denis Noble and Michael Levin, neuroscientist Donald Hoffman, and even Sam and Anaka Harris, all of whom have come in varying ways and degrees to view consciousness itself
as the most fundamental reality – from which space, time and matter are merely derivative aspects. Max Planck held firmly to this perspective a century ago, and the rest of us are finally catching up. We are very pleased and
honored to welcome Ed back for a return engagement as our 30th Anniversary guest speaker.

Our True Nature and How to Overcome Challenges to Living as Love

Our December 13, 2025 program will feature a talk by Mary Ruberry, artist and author, on her book, Messages from The Tara. We know that we are beings of Light and Love, yet often we find ourselves engulfed in the 3-D world of distractions and busy-ness, and lose sight of our true nature. As we move into the New Golden Age, humans are transitioning away from leading with the rational mind and instead leading everyday life from the heart — or “heart mind.” Mary will discuss simple techniques for overcoming challenges to achieving a Pure Heart in the quest to live heart-led. She will also discuss what the great Tara has imparted in her divine messages to help us transform from outmoded paradigms and into enlightened patterns of thought that align with Nature. Some of the topics addressed by The Tara include: Free Will, Sadness/Depression, Unity Consciousness, Ego, Emotions, Patience, Time, Energy, and the Higher Self/Divine Will. She will also detail elements of the New Age that we are entering, and gives advice about how to navigate the changes. The Tara explains her inspiration as follows: “I am giving you these messages to help those who want to rise above the commonplace. There are luminous individuals who can make a significant difference in this present time. I want to reach those people as much as possible to: (1) encourage them on their path, in their leadership role, (2) show them clearly and simply how to peel away modern thinking and habits that hold them back, and (3) I want to spur them on to new patterns of thought, new ways of perceiving, new ways of leading, new practices to replace those that do not work.” The Tara’s insights are profound indeed and Mary is thrilled to have the opportunity to share some of her wisdom with you (from her book: Messages from The Tara: A Book of Wisdom for New-Age Leaders). She will have books to purchase if you are interested.

About Our Presenter: Mary Ruberry is a writer and artist who addresses issues of spirituality and wellness. She is also a motivational speaker who talks about living as one’s true self in order to be profoundly happy in life. Mary has taught classes focused on the New Age, the Etheric Body and How It Functions, tuning into past ages and masteries (especially Lemuria, Avalon & Atlantis), working with Guides, and energy work/techniques, both for the physical body and for clearing spaces. Mary worked in the biomedical field in the areas of genetic engineering and protein science for over 20 years before stepping away to follow her calling. She has written three published books and is also a published poet. In addition, Mary worked as an Actor and Director in Theatre, Film and TV on both the East and West Coasts of the US. She studied classical voice for over 16 years and has performed in numerous concerts and recordings. Through her present work, Mary endeavors to help humanity ascend into the New Age, and create a society of peace, love and justice, where the good of all is paramount.

RichmondIONS November 2025 Meeting

Program Title: “Between Lives and Legacy: Exploring Druze Culture and the Belief in Reincarnation.” Our
November 15, 2025 program will feature a talk by Khattar Hatoum, PhD, a reincarnation researcher and Druze
himself.

The Druze are a unique and deeply spiritual community whose roots trace back to 11th-century Egypt, yet whose cultural and metaphysical traditions remain largely hidden from public view. In this engaging and thought-provoking presentation, Khattar invites us into the heart of Druze identity—where culture, ethics, and the soul’s journey through multiple lifetimes are intimately intertwined. This talk will explore the foundational beliefs of the Druze faith, including its esoteric origins, its emphasis on unity and divine knowledge, and its strict tradition of spiritual secrecy. We’ll examine how Druze culture has preserved its distinct identity across centuries, despite political upheaval and geographic dispersion. At the center of the presentation is the Druze belief in reincarnation—known as taqammus—a concept that is not metaphorical but lived and accepted as fact within the community. Khattar will share compelling stories of Druze children who recall past lives with astonishing detail, and how these memories are investigated and often validated by elders. We’ll also compare Druze reincarnation with similar beliefs in Hinduism and Buddhism, and reflect on what these ideas suggest about consciousness, memory, and the continuity of the soul.
This presentation is ideal for those interested in consciousness studies, comparative religion, and the intersection of culture and metaphysics. Whether you’re new to the Druze or curious about reincarnation from a cross-cultural lens, you’ll leave with a deeper appreciation for how ancient wisdom continues to shape modern spiritual identity.

Another not-to-be-missed program for all who can attend! See you there!

About Our Presenter: Khattar Hatoum was born in the mountain village of Kafarselwan, Lebanon, into a Druze family whose spiritual traditions and cultural values have shaped his life’s journey. The Druze community, known for its deep metaphysical teachings and strong ethical code, instilled in Khattar a lifelong respect for wisdom, resilience, and inner growth. In 1996, Khattar immigrated to the United States and began his career as a hairdresser. His path was unconventional, but marked by determination and a thirst for knowledge. At age 37, he returned to school, earning an associate degree in social science from J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College, followed by a
bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). He later completed a master’s degree in psychology at American Public University. Khattar’s academic journey culminated in a PhD in Philosophy, specializing in General and Social Psychology, from Selinus University. He also holds a Professional Doctorate in Mental Health and Family Counseling from Stanford College, UK, and certifications in Substance Abuse Counseling. His interest in Druze reincarnation is both personal and scholarly. As a member of the Druze community, Khattar brings lived experience and academic insight to a tradition that remains esoteric and misunderstood. His presentations reflect a unique blend of cultural authenticity and psychological depth.

RichmondIONS October 2025 Meeting

Program Title: “Towards a Scientific Proof of God.” Our October 18, 2025 program will feature a talk by
Nelson Marquina, MSc, PhD, DC, President, Founder and Chief Science Officer of Laser Biotech International.
In his previous presentations to our group, Nelson has focused primarily on the effects of electromagnetic fields (EMF) on the physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual experiences of
humanity, including the potentially hazardous effects of certain types of EMF, such as those to which we are routinely exposed through our daily use of the current generation of cell phones and Wi-Fi technology (5G). Nelson’s early encounters with shamans in the Peruvian Andes helped shape and influence his view of the world and his later interests in biophysics, psychology, healthcare, and science generally. Those shamanic encounters in his native land also led him to an appreciation of unseen realms, to a perspective that everything in creation is an expression of divine spirit, and a desire to more meaningfully connect the realm of physical matter with the realm of spirit than conventional scientific materialism/physicalism usually allows. Nelson’s presentation will offer a conceptual overview of astrophysics, brain neurology, and the biophysics of electromagnetic fields (EMF) to explore the connections between the human nervous system, human consciousness,
and the experience of being alive. He also will explore conceptual and practical models to explain the dynamics of our higher consciousness levels, both as metaphors and experiential tools. The presentation will include questions
about the nature of the self, the nature of reality at its most fundamental levels, and the nature of what we refer to as the divine, that may have surprising implications and lessons for all of us, with a goal to more fully explain human experience and to prove or disprove (your choice) the existence of God.

Another not-to-be-missed program for all who can attend! See you there!

About Our Presenter: Dr. Nelson Marquina was born in Perú and now lives in Richmond where he is the Chief Science Officer of Laser
Biotech International. He earned a Master of Science in mathematical statistics from Worcester Polytechnical Institute and doctoral degrees

Richmond IONS September 2025 Meeting

Program Title: “Winks from Heaven.” Our September 20, 2025 program will feature a talk by Susan Wysoki, an author and Certified Transformation Life Coach, about her inspiring just published book, Winks from Heaven.

If you were told you only have a few months left on earth, what would you do? What enormous decisions and intimate details would fill up your weeks, days, minutes, and seconds? Now, imagine if those final months belong not to you, but to the person you love most in the world. Susan’s life changed forever on the night of December 15, 2016 when her daughter Jessica was rushed to the Pediatric Emergency Room. The doctors feared it was appendicitis, a scary and potentially life- threatening condition. Within 24 hours that diagnosis would change to something no one ever could have imagined… Stage 4 colon cancer. Jessica had just turned 17. Jessica escaped her body, after a 17-month battle, on the day after her high school graduation, but the “everyday angels” who crossed their path throughout the journey, and the messages from Jessica after her “death” have been extraordinary. Winks from Heaven chronicles Susan’s journey after Jessica’s death, and the extraordinary stories of everyday angels who showed up to guide her path. Immediately, Susan began receiving heavenly “WINKS” of hope. But what began as a trickle exploded into a flood of communication–from strangers, sayings, symbols and signs with miraculous messages from beyond the veil—Message threads which knit her entire journey together and prove miracles can and do show up for ordinary people. And the most important message of all? LOVE NEVER DIES. Susan has collaborated with the Department of Perceptual Studies at the University of Virginia and has received endorsements and support from literary luminaries including Mitch Albom, Bob Goff, Bill Guggenheim, Dr. Eben Alexander and Dr. Bruce Greyson.

Richmond IONS August 2025 Meeting

Saturday, August 16, 2025

Featuring a talk by James G. (Jim) Matlock, Ph.D.

.
Program Title: “The Rich Tapestry of Reincarnation Research.” Our August 16, 2025 program will feature a talk by

James G. (Jim) Matlock, Ph.D., North Carolina Research Fellow with the Parapsychology Foundation and author, on his book Signs of Reincarnation: Exploring Beliefs, Cases and Theory (2019), and on his current research projects in this field. In Signs of Reincarnation, Jim provides the first comprehensive look at the belief in reincarnation and the evidence for past lives from historical records, anthropological studies, and contemporary research. Jim will discuss various ways the evidence may be interpreted and show that although reincarnation entails a rejection of the materialist notion that consciousness is generated by thebrain, it does not require the acceptance of any radically new concepts or the abandonment of well- established findings in mainstream psychology or biology.Jim’s book offersstudents, scholars, and anyone interested in the possibility of reincarnation an essential grounding in beliefs, cases, and theory, while opening doors for future research into the extension of consciousness beyond our present lives.Beliefs in reincarnation are widespread across the world. Most Westerners know that Eastern religions like Hinduism and Buddhism teach reincarnation, but fewer realize that reincarnation is a tenet of several Shia Islamic sects, the ultra-Orthodox branch of Judaism, and many indigenous tribal societies. The details of the beliefs vary, but, interestingly, all are associated with the same set of signs, including memories of previous lives. Jim also will share with our group evidence of reincarnation from groundbreaking research he is conducting currently involving links between autism and past-life memories (“PLM”), describing two cases where PLM were displaced onto invisible companions. We are pleased to welcome Jim as our guest speaker.
